Super Bowl LIX Early Betting Strategies

For this 2025 Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs are defending their NFL title against the Philadelphia Eagles. While we wait for February, 2025 for the game to take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, it is not too early to make some Early Super Bowl bets to increase your odds of winning. Thus, in my Super Bowl LIX Early Betting Strategies, I will explain the type of early bets to make and why.

Before I begin, let’s take a look at the facts for each Super Bowl contenders.

Since the 2021 season, no team has managed to overcome the Chiefs in the playoffs. The rematch of Super Bowl 2023 presents a significant distinction for both teams: the presence of the Eagles’ star running back.

Barkley achieved an impressive total of 2,005 rushing yards during the regular season, and Philadelphia's formidable rushing offense has proven difficult for opponents to contain, both in the regular season and the playoffs.

While the Chiefs’ defense is respectable, ranking 12th in the league for yards allowed per play during the regular season, their run defense raises some concerns. Kansas City permitted an average of 4.8 yards per carry from Weeks 10 to 17, placing them 26th in the NFL, and they have faced challenges in the postseason as well, allowing 5.1 yards per carry against the Texans and 4.8 yards per carry against the Bills.

A fun fact is that this will be revenge match between the Chiefs and the Eagles. Two years ago, during Super Bowl LVII, both teams went head-to-head at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona. The game ended with Kansas City defeating the Eagles 38-35. Hence, the Eagles have a good reason to defeat the Chiefs in a grudge match. But then again, the Kansas City Chiefs have a lot to lose as well. If they can manage a victory, they will become the first team in the NFL t0 win 3 consecutive Super Bowl titles.

Super Bowl LIX Early Betting Strategies

Betting on the Underdog Moneyline - If you believe the Philadelphia Eagles will triumph in Super Bowl LIX, it would be prudent to place your football bet sooner rather than later.

Betting on the Big Game differs significantly from other NFL matchups, as it is heavily influenced by the opinions of casual fans. This results in a large number of novice bettors who are less concerned with "covering the spread" and prefer to simply wager on a team to win outright.

In contests as competitive as the Super Bowl, the underdog often garners considerable interest. Not only do they represent a formidable team, but the potential return of better than 1/1 on your investment is particularly appealing to recreational gamblers.

It is common to observe substantial backing for the underdog in terms of ticket sales and total wagers on Super Sunday, especially when the point spread is narrow, as it is for Super Bowl LIX.

Betting on Long Shots - Will there be a safety? Will the game extend into overtime? Will there be a touchdown scored by the defense or special teams?

An examination of the betting trends among casual bettors prior to kickoff reveals that one or possibly all three of these Super Bowl "Yes/No" long-shot wagers are likely to be popular choices.

Typically, these prop bets offer payouts ranging from +1000 to +300; however, bookmakers have been reducing these odds in recent years due to the increasing occurrences of safeties and overtime in Super Bowl games.

There is no disadvantage in placing a bet on these props, but it is advisable to do so before the market becomes saturated, which would lead to diminished payouts. These "Yes" long shots tend to lose value significantly, prompting larger bettors to purchase the "No" options at a more favorable rate as kickoff approaches, with odds shifting from -1800 to -1000.
